**Edit:** Upon a second thought, wishing that the monsters would target the farther away Cannon after they have taken out the 2 Snipers just won’t work because the pathing may be shortest to the Teslas from where they are. It’s just a lot complex, with different monsters targeting different buildings. Some of them have tested their designs a good deal. Some of the more advanced players have given a lot of thought to their yard designs. Just a side-effect of the main medicine that still has uses. Then they would go for the Sniper on the other side of the “fence of walls.” After that, they would go for the Cannon, like this:Įven if I hadn’t planned for it, I could use that. ![]() During which the Laser tower would be busy shooting at them. I’d hope they went for the close-by Sniper at the outside, saving the Laser tower for later. The remaining Ichis died at that point so I couldn’t see what would happen next. ![]() Then they went for the Aerial Defense tower skipping the double-layered blocks separating them, but still chewing on the wall block that was just 1 layer to the Aerial Defense tower. The Ichis attacked from the East, going for the Cannon. To test it I called 45 Ichis with the Monster Baiter. Only multi-layered walls can try to deflect them, but as soon as they find a one-block they can chew on to open a gateway, they do so going for the nearest tower. The tower-targeting monsters go for the towers that are closest and walls don’t deflect their target like I had dreamed. ![]() My friend told me that the monsters don’t go like that. When I was designing my current yard, I thought it would work like this: I’ve been talking with a friend regarding pathing. Keeping it with the spirit of what I wanted, anything I need to watch out for regarding this design? I know a solid silo Death Trap could have been advisable, but from reading the extra care people go to by using Bolts and Brains when looting, nothing can stop a proper looter anyways. I think the defenses are wide enough though. I soon found out it was tough to fit everything on the length of the yard, as I used every available inch. Finally I wanted the Teslas protected from being taken out too early as well, but maybe they are catapultable at the moment which worries me. And I wanted the Aerial Defense towers protected just like the Lasers so they could watch out the airspace longer. I wanted to keep the Snipers nearer the center so they could help to watch out both sides of the “fence.” And I wanted the Lasers watching out for the Snipers too. My idea was to use the Cannon towers to attract the enemy fire from afar and to make the enemy troops to go round the yard looking for more of them. The level 2 Bunkers fit in this expanded twice yard just fine, for instance. I figured as the yard is wider horizontally, I should use that in order to take full advantage of the ranges within the yard. I also wanted to sneak in some traps defending the Town Hall and silos. What I wanted to do was to make a thin center like that, with a line of Town Hall and silos and with towers between them so it was harder to get rid of them. I wasn’t really sure whether my ideas regarding it were going to work. () But I was losing sleep over the 10 million Putty and maybe Zafreetis. After what seemed like eternity I’ve finished with redesigning it. After I got TH7 I felt compelled to change my yard’s design. (Starting a new thread so it’s happier than the last one.)
